1930's

 

Harry and Yetta Katz take rolls of linoleum and some ice boxes from Joseph Katz’s Furniture store to start Harry Katz Floor Covering and Appliances.

1932

 

The Katz Family helps build the first temple in Mineola - Temple Beth Shalom.

1949

 

Harry Katz served as a volunteer firefighter in the town of Mineola for 49 years and was also a founding member of the Mineola Chamber of Commerce.

1955

 

After 3 locations in Mineola, Harry Katz Floor Covering and Appliances moves to its current location on Jericho Turnpike.

1985

 

Harry Katz Floor Covering and Appliances joins Carpet One, a cooperative of floor covering stores throughout North America.
